Malta is a small island but a car is always useful to get around to be more flexible when seeing the attractions on the island.
Our island can get quite congested with traffic due to the increased number of cars. This means that you must plan ahead to get to your destination in order not to waste a lot of time. Rush hours are typically in the morning and late afternoon but traffic is still seen throughout the whole day.
In Malta, we drive on the left-hand side of the road but our steering wheel is on the right-hand side of the vehicle.
Aggressive driving is not uncommon in Malta so you must be aware of your surroundings and always follow traffic regulations.

What do we think about driving in Malta?
Since we are locals we drive every day. It sometimes becomes hectic especially when there is traffic. The positive thing about this is that Malta is small so all distances are short, even if you need to cross the entire island.
